I love the story of Biba, a boutique that opened in London in the 60's
by designer Barbara Hulinacki. The shop was once described as
"the most beautiful shop in the world" and was frequented by
Twiggy, Brigitte Bardot, The Rolling Stones and every other hip
little tween in the city. It was the first place to actually sell a lifestyle
and not just clothes or makeup. I really love that Hulinacki , at
72, is cool as ever, and still designing.
The owner herself, Barbara Hulanicki. Then and now.
There is a documentary about the designer and Biba's
rise to fame.....
Semi- recent collaboration with Topshop results
in modern mini dresses and loose legged pants
that still have that 60's vibe.
