Last week I rented a luxury vehicle and drove north to surprise my mom for her birthday. Some other things I did included going to the Plymouth Rock, having my dad take pics of me jumping in front of a huge statue, saw The Help, walked around a really old graveyard, went to Newport and got tattooed, had brunch buffet, Titos Tacos, watched a few Real Housewives, hit up all the Savers for thrifting, and listened to a lot of Hot 97 on the ride home.

Ok , I know probably 90% of people HATE this Robyn look, but

I dunno, I get it. Or I like the idea of it...it looks like something I would put together.

I just wish the dress was more flattering on her. If it actually fit her right, this outfit could be very cool.

And to those people slamming this look, those shoes and the long-in-the-back-short-in-the-front skirt are IN style right now. Or at least with street style, maybe not hoity toity red carpet culture, but yeah that's where she was coming from with this.

The Goods...

I thought overall, Rihanna looked the best. I love her new blond shag, and the dress

was simple, sexy, and chic. My favorite jewelry of the night was Alicia Key's oversized gold necklace.

I liked this Porcelain Black person's outfit. I don't know who she is but I think

she looks hipper than most.

Adele looked pretty and just seems so happy and real, which is refreshing.

As we all know by now, it is Betty White's 90th birthday today. I made a style collage for her that caters to those 80's Golden years. The first things I thought of were SLACKS, pantyhose, those silky blouses with the attached scarves, printed scarves, loafers, diamonds, blazers, and hair rollers. These things could all be considered very dated sounding, but they're actually quite chic when you find the right ones. (I always considered myself more of a Blanche)

Punk Rock Rainbow Sparkle

A little over a year ago I was able to be a part of a crazy photo shoot at my friend Adam Wallacavage's house. The house was filled with fancy candy, cakes, and was pretty much an Alice in Wonderland type set up. Also in the shoot was fashion designer, Jessica Louise, and New York Ink's Megan Massacre.The photos were taken for Natalia Fabia, who makes beautiful, realistic paintings of anything punk rock and glam. You can see more photos from the day of the shoot HERE!

This past weekend, Natalia had her grand opening show at Jonathan Levine gallery in Manhattan. The opening was insane...it was like packed, which isn't too surprising since the show had writeups all over the place including Elle and Hi Fructose.
Lots of punk rockers, and very stylish people were there. The painting of us is unreal. Very large scale and so detailed and vibrant.

I had on these chunky and very heavy Jeffrey Campbells and after the first 3 flights of stairs I literally felt like I couldn't go on. I've never felt that way. I couldn't move but then I started laughing on top of it and then really couldn't move. By the time I got to the gallery I couldn't breath.

Here's my top red carpet looks from the Golden Globes last night. I noticed when I was googling the images, a lot of the photos I pulled were coming off the "Worst Dressed" lists, so there you go. I guess I have bad taste.

Angelina in Atelier Versace.

Reason: This dress fits her to perfection, and I love how the red lips

match the little pop of red on the collar.

Zooey Deschanel in Prada.

Reason: This dress is unique, and no one else is wearing lime green to this event.

Even her fingernails had little tuxedos painted on them (which is a little 2 weeks ago...I did tuxedo nails 2 weeks ago, so....she must be following my instagram)

Salma Hayek in Gucci.

Reason: This dress actually looked better on camera than in these pictures.

It's dark, edgy, glamerous and fit her to perfection.

Claire Danes in J Mendel.

Reason: The front is so classy, chic and simple, while the back

has meshy, netted detailing for some unexpectedness (is that a word?)

Nicole Ritchie in Julien MacDonald.

Reason: This gown is sparkly, glamerous and chic but not too over the top.

This leaves her room to do something a little crazy with her hair.

I love this pony tail.

Honorable Mentions

Charlize Theron looked effortlessly glamorous in this ball gown. It's just that little headband that kind of bothered me. A little too pre-teen for me.

Elle MacPherson looked like a swan in her white, poofy gown.

I enjoyed these two belted ladies. Kate Winslet in simple black and white, and Emma Stone in a two toned dress (I love these two tones together)
